The John Lennon Wall — Prague, Czech Republic

In addition to housing a UNESCO World Heritage site, Prague (Czech Republic) is home to a thriving musical, literary and artistic culture. A whimsical example of this is the John Lennon Wall, situated just off the main drag. During the Soviet Occupation, this site served as a form of artistic expression and peaceful protest. In fact, Soviet soldiers often whitewashed the walls to subdue the silent rebellion, but the walls were always repainted by dawn.

Since we’re both huge Beatles fans, this is a must-see stop for us when we’re in the city. Who knows, maybe next time we’ll do a little painting of our own!
