Okay, I admit it: I’ve been a bad, bad blogger. I haven’t posted here in a few weeks, and though I have plenty of excuses (I was sick! I was busy! I haven’t been at my desk!) none of them are very convincing. I think I’m in a travel-funk, because I know I won’t be heading anywhere exciting this summer. Yes, I’m planning a wedding in Prague for October, and yes, I am tremendously excited about that. But this is the time when I’m usually in full summer planning mode, and we’ll be sitting it out and saving up for gettin’ hitched. Oh, well — what problems to have, right?
Anyway, while I fight my way through this fugue, I thought I’d share my latest pub from 225, which has some recommendations for Valentine’s Day. Even if you’re not in the Baton Rouge area, which I know many of you aren’t, this might get your creativity flowing for some not-so-typical ways to celebrate the day.
Try to step out from the ordinary and use this somewhat stale and over-hyped holiday as a “staycation” to explore some of the opportunities your city has to offer. For instance, Baton Rouge offers guided trail rides, drinks with a view, couples’ pottery lessons and more.
